Hi all,

AM confused about the application process for PR....I got married and havent received the marriage certificate....i want to apply for PR and work permit.....How do i go about it??

Which forms to fill and for both PR and work permit...

Can i get work permit and work as i wait for PR card??

You need to decide which application package you are going to submit:

Inland (if both people are in Canada)

Outland (can still be filed if both people are in Canada)


Outland is typically faster, but an OWP is not available. OWP can be submitted with an Inland application, but wouldn't be issued until the applicant reaches stage 1 approval on their PR application (known as AIP) which takes ~ 15 months (based on the current processing times).

Both of us are in canada......am just going to apply inland....Where and how do i get this form that enables me to apply for OWP....
Secondly can i only submit copy of marriage certificate or i have to attach photos as well..

Which forms are these ?? Are they additional application package?

I just got married recently, preparing to sponsor my wife from India, I am returning to Canada in a week. I plan to apply PR first and then the Tourist visa, so in my case, can my spouse apply for OWP from INDIA?? if so in what stage?? and 15 month processing time seems little too much? is that for complete process or just first stage approval??

OWP is only available if you apply inland. You cannot get a work permit outland.

15 months is for stage 1 of inland. The applicant is not supposed to leave Canada until their application is completed.
