Hi guys
Can you help. I am uk citizen. my new husband is also uk born and bred but is a Canadian citizen, we married this year and applied for him to sponsor me . Mississauge recd the application and forwarded it to London uk office as we are applying outland. On the website application status, it says no decision has been made yet, but my medical records are fine, and the bottom line in green says decision made - you will need to meet with immigration officer and may need an interview. All this has happened since sept 10 this year so its moving pretty fast, do you think it will still take 11 months to process and also, how long do I have to move to Canada when they give me the green light as I still have a property to sell

you will want to go to the london applicant thread to get an idea what to expect with your application. there is a spreadsheet that tracks application progress for applicants, and you'll be able to see what the "trends" are for approval at your office.

If you don't mind me asking, could you please share your timeline; when did you apply, when did you get Sponsor Approval? also, do you know for sure you are required to attend an interview?

Also to answer your earlier question; your COPR validity will coincide with your medical results expiration date (they expire one year after they are done) so depending on how long it takes them to finalize ur case and when u did ur musicals, you will be able to assess how much time you have to land as a PR; worse case scenario, u just come and land, get your PR card mailed at a Canadian address of someone u know in Canada and go back to UK to wrap things up. Hope this helps!

Hi ....we posted our sponsorship abour sep8 - I found out on line on the 10th Nov that they had received it and send it to London Uk -
We have known each other since I was born and have hung out together over the years - we got married in Canada tis year. As weare both from the Uk I don't think I will need an interview.. I am just worried that if everything is OK and I passed the medical in Aug I think - if I get the go ahead to join hubby in Canada and I still haven't sold my house can I get an extension on the date they give me

no, your COPR landing expiration date won't and can't be extended because you need to sell your house in the UK. you will either need to make arrangements with someone to help you, or fly back AFTER successfully landing to finalize everything over there. if you dont land by the date specified on your COPR, it will be cancelled and you will have to start all over again.

as suggested above, you will probably get a better understanding of the process for london by going to the london specific thread. it is a normal part of the process to have months of silence. generally, the applicant ony hears from cic if more information is needed or the visa is ready to be issued. not hearing anything doesn't mean anything is "wrong" with your application. again, to know how long it takes, you will want to refer to the london thread.

You should check the September 2014 applicants thread; there are many London applicants on there; on the other hand check out Britishexpats.com, it has a very nice spreadsheets showing all UK applicants timelines; for routine/straight forward cases (which seems to be your case), it'an average of 6 months from the date you applied so roughly 6 months from September 08; however, I have seen some lucky folks whose files were kept in Mississauga for processing get approved in 2 months! Hope this gives u an idea!
