Hi,

I am a born Canadian ,i currently live abroad and would like to sponsor my husband to live in Canada. We do plan to both move back once he can go.
I have a few questions regarding sponsoring while living abroad:
-How fast would the processing be ?
-Is it preferred to for the sponsor (myself) to be living in Canada and applying inland?
-In terms of proving that i will move back along with my husband: how can i prove this before he receives any sort of indication or i is given a PR to go? It wouldnt make sense for me to start applying for jobs from now in Canada since i dont know when my husband will be given the green light to go.
Has anyone been through this by sponsoring from abroad?
-I have been living out of the country since i graduated from university and hence i ahve not filed any income tax, whereas in the checklist for the sponsors, they request to see an original Option C Printout of my last Notice of assessment for the most recent taxation year.
Since i live abroad, ,i dont see a need to file income tax in Canada, would it be a problem to send my documents through without this printout ?
What kind of explanation would be valid for processing?

- every visa office has a different processing time, so dependent on where your husband is from will change how fast or slow the processing will be.

- most likely, you will be better off applying Outland because inland sponsorships are usually far longer than Outland for majority of visa offices.

- you can definitely apply for jobs while still living out of Canada. This will show that you are informed about where you will be living in Canada and have been looking into employment. If you are light abroad while applying, you will need to show proof of intent to return to Canada. Applying for jobs shows is. You should also look into where you will want to live. Show property and rental research. You can't go into this blind. If you will be living with family when you first return, then have them write letters of support for you saying that you will be living with them.

As for option C, since you have been out of Canada you won't have to provide one, but you will have to prove that you will be able to support your husband. You can do this by showing pay stubs, savings, etc.
