HI to all.

My husband is a canadian citizen and I am an Indian citizen currently residing in the United States. My application was tranferred from Buffalo Immigration to office in New Delhi. The question now is that what is the next process or procedures. Will my sponsor receive a letter for further instructions? I was told that they will assign a new file number to my application, with the application received date as the date on which your application was initially made. I would like to know how long would be the processing time. Does it mean that my processing time start from the date the office in canada approved the application. My application was in process in the month of september.When i check the timeline its says that the processing time for delhi is 6 months. does it mean i will get my pr in the month of march. Please help

You'll probably receive an Acknowledgement of Receipt from ND, telling you that they've received the file and when, and giving you the new file number. You should receive that, not your sponsor (essentially they're done with the sponsor for now). New Delhi is actually processing faster than Buffalo, in 2-6 months after receipt. No, processing time does not start from the date the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga received the file - the overseas visa office timelines are their own, so you can expect ND to finalize your ap within 2-6 months after they received the file.

That doesn't guarantee you will have your visa by March. Each application is unique - if there are complications with your file or if they have to ask you for additional documentation, or if they request an interview, it can slow things down. But what the timelines indicate is that typically 80% of applications are finalized within 6 months . . . some of them as quickly as two months after receipt. It just all depends on how yours plays out.

I have a question with regards to your case. I am an indian citizen with H1B visa in the US. I have stayed in the US for almost 3 years. I have just received my AOR from the Buffalo office.

Was your file transferred to New Delhi in the first communication letter from Buffalo or you received an AOR and then another letter later informing your file was transferred to New Delhi?
