Spousal Sponsorship to Canada from India

hey guys.. i recently sponsored my husband from india to Canada..so CIC is handling the sponsorship

application recv June 19
started processing Sept 5
Biometrics and medical requested Oct 2

.. my husband has already done biometrics today at india local VAC office and medical is thursday.. my friend did similar sponsorship but she applied a week after me and her husband got visa just few days back.. This is a second marriage for both of us so does that hold any difference with processing time? We had very strong paperwork and he had all police checks cleared and i also recvd a letter for sponsorship approval.. when will biometrics and medical update online to show recvd and what kind of timeline can i expect for approval for visa.. from what i am hearing they can ask passport few weeks after medical.. any thoughts and experience and knowledge would be helpful. It would be extraordinarily rare for a sponsorship application to be sent in May/June of 2019 and approved by October with applicants from India. I imagine your friend has applied for a different visa or under a different path.

The average processing time for a spousal sponsorship is 12 months from application received date. So you can expect yours to continue processing until June of 2020 - unless you actually applied in 2018, which, since you haven't provided years in your application dates, I don't know.

There are no hard-and-fast rules for timelines. You can't expect passport request "a few weeks" after medical receipts. Each spousal sponsorship case is different. Second marriages in countries where second marriages are rare will increase review time.

You're in a waiting game now. Expect this process to take a year or more. If you get approved in less than a year, count your blessings.

Hi, am planning to apply for spousal sponsorship and my spouse is in India as well. Its a second marriage for both of us with kids. Just wondering if you could share some tips .
