Spousal Sponsorship Rejection

HI ,

My husband sponsored me and I got rejection on my PR stating that me and my husband were common law partner before he got his PR which is totally wrong .. here is the background
I came in canada as a student in 2014 ... I did 2 year postgraduation and then got WP for 3 years ... while i was student i was living in a house with other students\friends one of them was husband ..but there are so many student who are living together doesn’t mean that the are common law .. we even provided IRCC with affidavits of our roommates that we were having different roomamtes and we were just bunch of students living under one roof .


We got married in 2018 april and put the file in oct 2018 got the rejection recently currently I am on Maternity leave and they denied my workpermit extension as well . I am working in a very good company and don’t want to loose my implied status and moreover don’t want to loose on EI otherwise it will be really hard to survive with the little one .

I also am in the same situation.

Did you receive a procedural fairness letter before and how did you respond to it?

Why were you suspected to be in common-law? Did you mention any cohabitation history? What did your relationship history with your husband look like?
