My husband has a PR status in Canada for almost 10 years and I am a citizen of the US, we married earlier this year (2017) and I've been living in Canada for 5 1/2 months I know I have to restrict being in Canada to only 6 months at a time but we finally decided to apply for me to immigrate to British Columbia before my passport stamp expires. Many of the paperwork questions ask if we are living together and give proof but I am only a visitor I can't work here legally so I have no employment or insurance evidence with both of our names or our married status nor can I apply to be added to his bank account without Canadian government issued ID all we have is proof that we live together because my name is also on the lease of our apartment. Going back to the US is not an option right now, so what else can I do to provide evidence? Has anyone else had this problem?

In Quebec, I found 2 banks that would open a joint account without Canadian identification (Scotia & TD).
I changed the cable and electricity accounts into my name.
I exchanged my valid FL drivers license for a Quebec permit. This only required proof of residency and a valid status for more than 6 months (?).

I've extended my status two ways... I applied for a visitor extension for 1 year and then a work permit application at the same time as the sponsorship and the work permit arrived valid for the remainder of time waiting for permanence residence.
