Hi,

Hope this finds the reader well. My question was regarding the possibility of sending in two parallel applications - one for PR Outland (sponsoring my wife ) and other for visitor visa ( again for spouse ). The aim was to apply for PR Outland in August and once AOR is received, apply for a temporary visitor visa so she could stay with me for <6 months while PR Outland was processed. This would minimize the time away.

Just wanted to know if this was a.) a possibility to go with the above option b.) whether there is a potential downside / risk to this.

I am a PR Holder in Canada, while wife is in Pakistan.

Thank you in advance for your help.

a) You can try.

b) People with spouses in Canada, and people with PR applications pending, are rarely approved for visitors' visas.

Thank you for your help. Yes, that is definitely the case - with very few people getting approved, although I personally know someone who did. My concern was whether decision on one application ( visitor ) has any implication on the PR Outland application decision?

They need very strong ties to their home country like good longterm job, property, etc. , good amount in their savings and previous international travel experience.
