Hi all,

I am applying for the spousal sponsorship program. I am sponsoring my wife and I have a little issue in the names. I am concerned with the correction of names from her old passport to her new passport. To have a long story short, I have my wife who had a little mistake in her family and first names.

The first name has a typo and her family name was based on her 4th given name. Now she wants to correct her first name and have her family name as her actual family name and not based on her 4th given name.

My concern is how will that affect the application process ? Is it needed to have a scanned copy of all passports ( old/new) attached to the application ? if yes, will that affect the process since names will be a bit different ? What should be done to make the application run smooth ?

Thanks

My wife had a similar situation, She has in total 4 passports.

Passport one which was issued when she was born and the 6 names, passport 2 which was renewed to shorten the name, passport 3 with her official name change and passport 4 with adding me as a spouse.

All we did was attach a letter explaining all the passports and the reasons and gave a copy of them.

So what happened ? Was there any issue in the process ? Or did it run smooth ? Did they ask for additional proof ? or your letter was enough ?

Thanks

The file has been transferred to Delhi, There isnt a problem as long as you can proof the current passport name is the legal name as per the birth certificate then there is no problem
