Is there anybody here who is living outside Canada with their spouse? If so how long did it take for your application?

I called CIC 2 days ago.
The status says that my application has been approved. They didnt say anything about eligiblity or background. But I didnt get any email nor there waa any changes on ecas. Got PPR on 16th and submitted my passport on 17th. No update after that.

Just looking for your thoughts on this:
My contact at my wife’s MP’s office was told something strange by her contact at IRCC in Ottawa. She had enquired on the possibility of obtaining a visitor visa for me and this person told her that it could not happen until eligibility was complete on my PR application. Further, that eligibility is not actually separate from background/security, even though it shows up that way on gckey. This person in Ottawa told her that background/security is actually a part of eligibility - that background/security and eligibility are interdependent and not separate at all. I’m thinking that she either did not understand or that this person in Ottawa did not know what they are talking about.
What do you think?

no, it means they send it to you from the islamabad's canadian embassy ..
please, relax .. your visa is almost at your door step .. you should be booking tickets right now, shopping and thinkin about how you are going to pack all your stuff ..
you can't get a visitor visa .. you will be rejected even if you do apply .. i would suggest, just wait it out .. there are ppl from 2016 and 2017 still waiting ..
no one should be living outside of Canada while the process is going on .. especially if you are a PR and not a citizen .. even though they are strict with citizens as well ..
