I'm really sorry as I'm sure this question has been asked a few times. I know the Nikkah Nama is to be translated and registered with Nadra. Does it also have to be attested by the Canadian Embassy in Pakistan or any other authority?

It's not necessary.. I didn't do that.. Mine was just registered.

I think they increased the cost of it as mine was about 6500 too in May 2015 but now it's about 9000.

don't know if it's too early to say, but maybe there's some truth to that notice they posted on the 13th regarding their efforts to clear the backlog?

At the rate of sounding cynical, but I don't believe it since at the speed they are going now, that's what they were doing initially even before the notice. If they hadn't gone for a middle eastern 'vacation', we would be seeing November applicants go green on our spreadsheet :-X

Regardless, I'm happy to see progress ;D
