Spousal Sponsorship & OWP Inland_Online Application 2022

Hi All,

I would like to ask if any one here applied for spousal sponsorship inland in October 2022? As we can only apply online now so can we apply for OWP as the same time or we still have to wait until we receive AOR and then apply for OWP after?

In case we still have to wait to receive AOR, thus in the IMM 5533 form, question 5 under Part A - Class of Application, we choose NO for the statement "I am also including an Open Work Permit application", is it correct?

All applications for spousal sponsorship must now be submitted online (as of a couple of weeks ago).

The current version of the form (09-2022) does not have that option listed under section 5. Perhaps the online Document Checklist, does?

In any event, until recently an OWP could be submitted at the same time as an Inland spousal sponsorship application, but it does seem that applicants must now wait until receiving AOR to be able to apply for an OWP.

Thank you for your reply.

I just downloaded the latest version of IMM 5533 and it doesn't show statement about OWP like you said. In that case I think we still have to wait until we receive AOR and apply for OWP after.
