Hey everyone,

My Wife and I got married in June 2014, and we submitted our application a few months after. Currently, she's here in Canada on a visitor visa, living with me.

My question is, when CIC requests passport for PR stamping, does she have to go back to India? I've heard some cases where people would just cross the border to the USA and then re-enter. Does that allow for PR stamping of the passport?

CIC usually offers the choice to send the passport to Ottawa when the applicant is in Canada. If she is not given that choice, she will need to send her passport to ND.

She cannot go to the border to have her passport stamped. That is for actually landing as a PR, after the applicant has received their COPR.

She can exit and re enter at the US/Canadian border

Incorrect. Passport stamping, which is what OP is inquiring about, cannot be done at the border.

I suggest you ask on the New Delhi thread and see if anyone there has been given the option while in Canada.
