Hi All,

I just have two quick questions from checklist as I am trying to bring my spouse from back home(Bangladesh). I will be using new application package for her

Q 1. You do not have to submit police certificates now. After your application is received, you will be requested to a) submit a validated Schedule A: Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form for yourself (and any family members 18 or over), and b) provide police certificates.

But me & my wife(principal applicant) both already have police clearance certificate. I am a Canadian citizen but I also got mine from RCMP & she collected her from Bangladesh. So my question is is it ok to send it with our application or we should wait & send when they ask for it?

Q 2. One (1) document from three (3) of the following sets of options:

• Joint ownership of residential property or joint residential leases or joint rental agreements listing both the sponsor and the principal applicant; (Minimum 1 document).
• Proof of joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); (Minimum 1 document).
• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address, such as copies of Government issued identification documents: driver's licenses, insurance policies, etc.
• Important documents for you or your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment or
insurance benefits). (Minimum 1 document).
• Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself.
• Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters, social media information showing a public relationship, etc.)

Here only last two are applicable for me as we are not living together & she is living back in Bangladesh so is it ok to submit only last two documents along with explanation letter saying why I am submitting two documents instead of six? Because we can's show join account , hydro bill , rental etc as we are not together & living in two separate countries.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated & looking forward to get your reply :)

Pre-Assessed..
1. The Schedule A and Police certificates should be uploaded once they request it.

2. Your notice of assessment should show your marital status as "married" and you can include that as evidence. Also, if you have a TSFA go to the branch and ask them to include your wife's name as 100% beneficiary. I did this without any issue. They don't require for your spouse to be there in person and they do not require a SIN. Request for a copy after that's updated. I think you can also list your wife on your employee benefits plan.

Still, you can attach the letter explaining why you don't have the other documents as you mentioned and that should suffice. Its understandable why you can't provide those documents if you're living apart.

All the best!
