Hello all,

I am very impressed with everyone's contribution and dedication in this forum. I would really appreciate your expert advice on this one.

I am trying to decide which category I should apply under and trying to figure out pros and cons such as timeline in each category.

1. I am married to a Canadian beautiful woman and we have a son who was born in Canada. My wife was not working for the past year because she was caring for our son. She had never received any financial assistance from Canadian Government. We have been married for 6 years.
2. I lived in Ontario for the past 1.5 years with work permit
3. My Canadian work experience meets the skilled category
4. I have taken English proficiency tests before and I have no doubt that I can pass the requirement.
5. I have renewed job offer that has 5-year term

So the question is under which category should I apply to become PR.
1. Should my wife sponsor me?
2. Should I apply under Canada Experience Class?
3. Should I apply under so called "Skilled worker"?

Which one is faster with less scrutiny?

Thank you and hope to hear some advices from all you experts.

If you meet the qualifications, the CEC class is usually the fastest, with the least amount of paperwork.

Consider which visa office you would apply to for Family Class. Some have short wait times and some are very long.

Not sure about the others, but for Family Class you apply Inland or Outland depending on your circumstances. Inland goes to Vegreville, AB and runs about 14 months.

Outland depends on what your home country is.

Check out this link. It'll give you processing times for all the different visa offices. The number published is the 80% rate, meaning 80% of applications are done in this time or less.
