Spousal Sponsorship Open Work Permit Application Questions

Hi,

I am married to a Canadian and I am applying for Spousal Sponsorship under Canada Class from inside the country. As indicated I can apply for an open work permit. However, I am having a hard time with questions from IMM5710. They ask what I am applying for, what option do I have to chose from:

• A work permit with the same employer
• An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
• Restoration of your status as a worker
• An initial or an extension of a temporary resident permit

I would go with number 2, but I have had work permits before that.

then they ask about the date and place of my original entry to Canada. Is this the first time ever I visited Canada?
I also don't understand the question about the duration of the expected employment. Should I indicate a year, knowing that my PR application shouldn't take longer than a year?

I am pretty lost, so thanks for all your help!

Hi,
I can't remember what I put for the first question, but I assume it was initial work permit or work permit with new employer.
Date and place of my original entry I put the first entry upon receiving the visa I am currently from (student visa). I now realize this may be a mistake because I did visit Canada as a tourist once before. I left the "duration of expected employment" field blank. Not sure if that helps. Currently waiting on my OWP too...

did you also apply for temporary resident permit? I will be there as a visitor and I don't know if I need to apply for the TRP as well.

No, I am currently in Canada on a student visa.
