Spousal sponsorship - letter from parents

Does anyone know if the letter my parents have written in support of our sponsorship actions, confirming that we will live with them in Canada and that they will lend a helping hand, needs anything else besides their signatures??

How do I find out if that's for sure? And if it is, could it be notarized the way Invitation letters are notarized when inviting a relative with a Visitor's visa - at the local City Hall? Or they need to actually go to Notary?
