Spousal Sponsorship last name confusion

Hi, I’ve been working on the applications for our spousal sponsorship so that it will be ready when my fiancé and I are married next month. I’ve filled everything out with my current(maiden) name since it says to fill it out as it’s listed on passport. I will be taking my fiancés last name.
Im hoping to submit the application as soon as we come back from our honeymoon so my maiden name will still be on my IDs. Im concerned about this causing problems.
Should a letter of explanation be sufficient? If anyone has had experience with this please let me know. Thanks!

I had a similar issue? I currently still haven't changed from my maiden name. Filled out all of the application with my maiden name (as it shows on all of my documents). I had changed my name on Facebook without legally changing the name. Just wrote a letter of explanation to say that due to delays with our marriage certificate my name has not been legally changed but socially I have been using my married name, hence it being different on my social media's. Once I get my pr card and I've settled a bit I'm going to apply to change my name and update all if my documents once its been approved.

It's not as much of a norm now for someone to take their partners last name so provided you can prove the relationship, the name shouldn't cause any issues

I think you should 'pick a lane' and stick to it. By which I mean: if you are willing to accept that you may not be able to fully change your name (all docs etc) until after you land and become a PR (plus some time after to deal with documents), fine. If you really want your married name to be reflected on all, change your name before applying (meaning get certificate and change at least passport).*

Not that it's impossible to take care of this during the process - but yes, it could lead to confusion or even some delays.

*Should have stated: obviously your application forms should reflect whichever lane you choose.

And as another user noted, nothing wrong with using your married name informally/socially, lots of people do that. Some will even do that professionally (if that's how they wish to be known).
