I sent my papers by mail on Aug 2015, I received a medical exam request on July 2016. After that on December 2016 I received a letter on my email saying that " It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class."
On January 2017 they send me a request saying " Specifically, you have submitted an incomplete Schedule A Background / Declaration (IMM5669) form(s) and/or incomplete Additional Family Information (IMM5406) form(s)." I did fill the info and since then I received no information or any updates from them.
By January 2018 I met the MP of my area, he checked on them and they said the problem that he did not sign the application that he resent them. Although I sent them online and the their website says don't scan the application and sign it if you send it online. Anyways, I did scan the applications and signed them. After two months of calling them they said that they received the files.
On April 2018, they said that they started my background security check and since then nothing is happened.
You can see the update list that I see now.

Anyone knows what I should do by now, I am thinking of withdrawing my application since it is not going anywhere after more than three years of waiting

Did you ever order your GCMS notes? If so, what do they say? Security screening is the very last step, so I’m not sure withdrawing and reapplying would be worth it

It's taking too long and I understand your frustration. My process took 23 months to be completed because of the security checks.

You're in the last stage of your process. Probably, CIC is waiting for your security check to be done by third parties.

I don't think it's a smart idea to withdraw your application at this point. It's a waiting game but you're almost done. Good luck!

I did order it and the only thing that I could understand from it that they were waiting for my signature over the sent files.
I agree with you that I am at the last stages but when I sent them my application it took me a year to understand that there is something is missing. I called them any times and sent them many emails asking about what is delaying my application, they kept saying nothing is wrong you need just to wait. Till the MP found the issue for me. I am afraid for the security check while there is another thing is wrong that they don't see now.
honestly my gut tells me not to withdraw but my frustration it does.

Thanks for you advice

I know, everyone is telling me this is the last step, but what bothers me that nobody knows how long this step may take.

Thanks for you advice, I will hold on my application for another couple months hoping that something may change soon

Wonder what happened with your application. I am also waiting and feeling hopeless now
