SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP IP2 TO PPR

Hello All

I applied to sponsor my Filipino husband on June 26 2017.

On May 31 2018, there was an update in his GC Key. Now it shows that his background check is in progress.

From what i understand, this is IP2 stage. I hope im correct.

I was wondering how long Manila visa applicants have to wait in IP2 stage before getting PPR.

Hubby has no criminal record and has never been in trouble with the law. He got his medical done in September 2017. Passed Medical with no issues.

The timeline for our application is as follows:

Filed: June 26 2017
AOR1: July 27 2017

File Transfer to MANILA: August 11 2017

Medical Request: August 8 2017
Medical Done: September 22 2017 (asked for extension on deadline)

Additional Documents Requested:September 8 2017
Additional Documents Submitted:November 6 2017 (got extension for this as it was a long process to obtain the requested documents)

Pre Arrival services Invitation:January 27 2018

GC Key states "reviewing additional documents": March 1 2018 (about 4 months after submission)

Background Check in Process: May 31 2018

Seems like it varies a lot. Considering you are close to approaching the 12 month mark hopefully you won't have to wait much longer.

I think the average times for background check are 46-65 days. Could be as low as 25, could be more like 90.

I am kind of new here and have no idea where and what to post. So i am writing my current position for INLAND QUEBEC FAMILY SPONSORSHIP. And i am not really good with Aor and stuffs so do please help me with it.


Applicant: I am.

Sponsor: My husband

Applied: May 9th, 2017

Received first letter from CIC ABOUT THEY RECEIVING OUR APPLICATION : June 7th 2017 and also REQUESTED TO APPLY FOR CSQ.

Recieved CSQ ON : 28TH June 2017

Additional documents requested by CIC to further process our application: March 14th 2018 ( Requested for newly signed Schedule A and Police certificate and Medical Requested.

Medical Passed on : 19th March 2018

Mailed my Schedule A and Police Certificate to CIC AS REQUESTED BY THEM on 27th March 2018. ( was signed by one of the representatives from CIC)

CIC PORTAL : CURRENT STATUS :

Review of eligibilty : Still in progress
Medical : passed
Review of additional documents: still need additonal documents ( even though i submitted everything and called cic several times and got a head up )
intervieew - not needed
biometrics - not needed
background check - in process
final decsion - application in process

Recived eligibitly passed form from CIC ON MAY 9TH 2018 ( Where i passed the eligibility as an applicant )

i would like to know what should i be expecting next ? Thank you

And then they call my husband in the Philippines to submit the passport and they email us as well..

When is your husband’s medical will be expired??? Becoz that’s what the consulate told us my husband needs to be here in Canada before medical expired

You know what I did, I followed up our application to our MP maybe that help to get our papers checked since it’s gonna be a 12Months marked on June 23rd.
