It's been almost 16 months and I am waiting for my wife's interview. The timeline for waiting is egregious.

If your visa officer is very rude, how will you tackle her and make a good result ? If she doesn't want to look at your documents and keep asking so many questions to make you nervous ?

If someone is rude, I think you should keep calm and give your answer in line with her question. At the same time keep your brain cool and be courteous. Generally speaking, that kind of rudeness is a strategic behaviour on the part of the interviewer. The interviewer normally assumes that the other person is not giving correct answers. So her job is to ask you so many confusing questions to make you nervous so that you may come up with irrelevant information and then she can further twist with your answers. So you must keep cool and answer properly in slow pace. I don't know why the interviewer may not be interested to look at your documents during the interview.....

This is what it says in my status when I clicked on "Decision Made":

1. We received your application for permanent residence on February 24, 2014.

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 7, 2014.

3. We started processing your application on March 7, 2014.

4. Medical results have been received.

5. We sent you a letter on February 19, 2016. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

6. We sent you correspondence on April 14, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

Very authentic user name you have. IMO, Visa Officer always strategize based on your reply. They will trick you, manipulate you, confuse you and what not to make you a mistake and use it against you. You have to remain calm and don't change your answer. Even if your spouse's answer doesn't match, still stick with your answer. They can tell lie to confuse you that the answer didn't match.

Carry every piece of evidence you can to proof the genuineness of your relationship. If they don't ask, You can't force them just remind them polietly you have these with you. Please go through all the pages of this thread and spousal sponsorship page. Read the interview experience and ask yourself what you would've done in that situation. Do mock interview with your spouse and family members. Make sure you guys in the same page.

No matter what happens, prepare for the worst scenario and pray for the best situation.

LASTLY, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE RED FLAGS OF YOUR APPLICATION. THINK CRITICALLY AND KEEP IT IN MIND THAT NO MATTER WHAT CURVE BALL THE VISA OFFICER THROWS AT YOU, YOU KNOW THE ANSWER. ITS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE'S LIFE. THEY DONT KNOW BETTER THAN YOU. ITS YOUR APPLICATION AND WHATEVER YOU GUYS FILL IN, JUST BACK IT UP WITH LOGIC AND CREDIBILITY.

I want to share my personal experience and want to like talk about the process about Canadian spousal immigration visa which is under Singapore visa office.

When I applied For My Visa:

I applied my Canadian spousal immigrant visa 12 June 2014 and my file transfer to Singapore visa office 11 August 2014. Singapore sends me a letter 8 September 2014 that I am pending for interview. The interview waiting time is 24 months.

When I get my interview letter:

I got my interview email after 17 month later. They send my interview email 17 February 2016.

My interview date:

My interview held in Dhaka Canadian High Commission in March 14 2016. In interview letter there they required---------

Update Application form,
1 .Generic Application Form For Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 536 KB)
2. Additional Dependants / Declaration [ IMM 008 DEP] (PDF , 472 KB)
3. Schedule A- Background / Declaration [IMM 5669] (PDF, 170 KB)
4. Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] (PDF, 88 KB)
5. Use of Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 55 KB)

Police Certificates:
• Certificates of Good Conduct or No Criminal Record issued by the law enforcement authorities for you and all family members 18 and over. Certificates are required from all countries in which you or your family members have resided for six months or longer. These certificates may be submitted at a later date if unavailable on the date of the interview.

•Applicants residing in Vietnam must apply in person for a Judicial Certificate, Version 2 (Phieu Ly Lich Tu Phap So 2) at the Provincial Justice Department (So Tu Phap) where their permanent residence is registered.

Civil Documents:
• Marriage/Divorce/Custody/Adoption/Death Certificates (as applicable)
• Birth certificates for all persons included in your application
• Household Registry or Family Book
• National Identity Card for all persons included in your application (if applicable)

Proof of contact with your sponsor:
• You and your sponsor's telephone bills for the past 12 months
• Photos of you and your sponsor taken together at various times during your relationship
• Wedding party photos (if applicable)
• Engagement party photos (if applicable)
• Original letters with envelopes from various times during your relationship, starting with your oldest correspondence
• Original money transfer receipts from your sponsor (if applicable)
• Old family photos showing you and/or your child(ren) with your sponsor (if applicable)
• Proof of your sponsor's visit(s) (airline ticket coupons, boarding passes, pages from your sponsor's passport showing entry and exit stamps, copy of visa(s) used for entry/exit, etc.)


If you are or you have dependant(s) over 22 years of age:

12. Why did sponsor divorce?
13. How did you know sponsor?
14. Does his mother know that you are a divorcee?
15. Why ask you to call him and not vice versa as you are girl?
16. What happen when you call?
17. Did your father also arrange other marriage for you?
18. When was your marriage?
19. Why are you in such hurry?
20. Who is sponsor living with in Canada?
21. Rented house from who?
22. What is sponsor doing in Canada?
23. Have sponsor sent you picture of his work place?
24. Have sponsor visited your parents or sister in USA?
25. What does sponsor do during his free time?
26. Where does sponsor go for shopping?
27. Did sponsor tell you about the place where he is staying?
28. What is sponsor favorite restaurant if he wants to eat Bengali food?
29. What is the name of that mosque sponsor is visiting in Canada?
30. How far is this mosque to his house?
31. How frequent is the bus service?
32. What preparation have you and your sponsor discussed about moving to Canada?


When I get my re-medical email:

After my interview they send my re-medical 1 month 5 days later. I did my medical from Dr. Wahab’s Clinic and it cost 4000tk . They send my re medical report Singapore. When the Clinic update my re medical report and after 7 days later my application status show “DECISION MADE”.

Now a day I am waiting for my passport request and thanks all my friends
