SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP INLAND- SCLPC and OWP Pilot Program

Hi ,

I have applied for my permanent residence through spousal sponsorship on Jan 22,2015 and also i have sent my OWP application along with it as per the new policy from Dec 22, 2015. I received my application number on March 13th, 2015. I have my open work permit which is valid till March 31st, 2015. I am working as a software engineer, can i work even after my work permit gets expired under implied status? Also has any one received work permit applied through this process?

My husband applied same way Jan 15/2015. email received March 13/20154, but no OWP
we are hoping it comes soon? i hope they mean 4 months from the time the application arrived in Mississauga...fingers crossed.

I don't think you can work if your OWP is expired, but hopefully someone else will be able to give you some better advice though.

hey quick question,
So my husband received an email March 13, that they have received his PR application. So my question is, if any form or information missing would they have sent it back already? I am worried that we may have missed something and don't want it to prolong the process.

If you have pending PR and OWP applications, both having been filed before your current OWP expires, then I believe that both permit you to continue working on "Implied status" until a decision is made on your new OWP application at the very least. Do some searching on this forum and the CIC website for more on implied status.
