Spousal sponsorship inland, current visa is expiring soon.

Hello,

I'm a canadian citizen that applied for a Spousal sponsorship for my wife that is on a student visa that is expiring soon (Jan 15th). We did not receive the AOR yet so we can't apply for the OWP, and I'm wondering what are the possibilities here. She did not finish her course yet so she cant apply for the PGWP.

Basically that would be converting her status her to visitor.
