Hi, My husband is on study visa in Canada and we got married (I am Canadian citizen). I am filling spousal sponsorship application for him. My concern is that on study visa he has worked for 30 or more hours each month and he is working even when he is not taking full time studies because of financial hardship. Will this working beyond 20 hrs become a major hurdle in our application and what can we do to overcome this. Can our application be refused because of this reason. Your response is highly appreciated. Thanks

This could cast doubt on the validity of your relationship and make IRCC concerned he is using you to gain status in Canada (i.e. that this is a marriage of convenience for him). He should stop working since he's not legally entitled to be working.

Thanks Scylla for a prompt reply. He already discontinued his job. But still the mistake is done in the past so should it create a major impact, Or i should file the spousal Sponsorship application

Good that he's stopped - he should be OK. Is he still attending school?
