I dont think there is any requirement that your medical checks have to be done in your home country. All that is required is that it is done by an approved panel physician which CIC lists a directory.

As for timing, the recommended timeline is that you go get the checks when the CIC requests them. However, now that the applications are promised to be completed within 12 months, some people have submitted them upfront. Since the medical checks are good for one year, they theoretically will still be valid by the time they get to reviewing your file. Under the old system, there were many stories of applicants having to redo medical checks since they had expired while in process.

Good day everyone,
First, Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!.
Im from Peru and in Canada for about 2 months now, thanks God my Visitor visa was approved. My husband is canadian (not resident) but we haven't started the inland paperwork yet, different reasons. We want to start them now. But is it true, that I have to get some medical certificates or checks, for the inland sponsorship that HAVE TO BE DONE IN MY HOME COUNTRY? do you guys know, WHEN approximately do I have to do this medical tests along the process of inland sponsorship?. I am worried because I have a return ticket to Peru for may 23th, this is kind of requirement when applying for TRV, and if I do need to have this medicals done in my home country, I could just take the fly to Peru and get it done now instead of waisting it and having to buy another ticket later on.
Also, if I do fly home to get this medical done, would I be able to come back any time?

Thank you for your help guys!
Hi, I did my medicals here in Canada , there is a list of panel physicians you can pick from and it's valid for a year. The only thing I got from my country before coming was my police certificate. I will advice you to go through the checklist and ensure you have every required documents available before coming to Canada. Regards

I paid $280

I did mine January 31st , I don't know how true but learned they stopped upfront medical in February. It doesn't really matter anyway cos when they need it they will send you a mail with a form and panel of physicans to choose from , no biggie .

As far as im aware the visitor visa doesnt allow reentry so if you leave canada the visa doesnt guarantee theyd let you back in.... the reason visa exempt countries could reenter is because they only need an eTA to visit

Seems like noone is applying inland in 2017 :D :D

We almost have our paperwork together, the marriage certificate is on its way. It took a bit over a month to come. We sent it online on Dec 6, and it says it was processed on Jan 9. Now only waiting for it arrive in the mail.

So we can officially start checking our documents and ensure everything is in order.

Hoping for the best for everyone this year!

Same situation here! We have everything ready just waiting for the certificate.

Where do i access the spreadsheet for 2017 applications?
