The way I look at is the more upfront proof we can provide the less they have to ask us for.

Since my hubby does not have OHIP every time we go to the Doc we have to pay so I called them last week and asked for receipt for the payments made, not for taxes, but for IRCC.
Is he working FT? If not, but is PT hours at a few places, I'd try talking to Service Ontario about it...

Yes, he just works part time. We got a letter from his work place but it said he works part time and then they misspelled his middle name so we are asking them to redo letter. Even if we cannot use for OHIP we can use for IRCC.

He was working part time at two places before Christmas but one of them was seasonal so now he is only working at one place.

The most important thing for us is the OHIP right now because my husband loves going to the Doctor. ::)

We changed everything before we submitted our application from Drivers license, health card, PR Card, SIN and philippine passport. in your case better to change it after you landed.

For your wife, it's easy and only takes a few min to do. Has to be started by a provincial or territorial government though (whoever issued her ID). In the case where it's a woman being sponsored, it causes headaches during processing. Not for Sponsor.

I get them all the time (sometimes a series twice a month; 10 in a series), so *usually* they don't bother me too much. I had a couple at the dentist's office this morning that are probably the worst. Right in the inside of the cheek.

Anyway, I am not sure if it's good or bad that Mr browning 'likes' to visit the doctor, medicines and tests.. sarcasm??

Hello all. I'm amused at the information CIC provides and the effort it takes to "read between the lines" and decipher their messages. My wife's application/profile details state the following:

Application status: We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility: Your application is in progress. The next step is to review your eligibility.
Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents: Not applicable.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I presume, after reading many of the comments on this thread, that CIC is now doing all tasks simultaneously (ie. assessing eligibility, background check, etc. all at once). The interesting part is beside each line item is a "?". When I click on the ? beside Final Decision, it states that a final decision has been made (contrary to the line item stating it is in progress). So I'm left to wonder if that is a true statement or is everything still in progress?

I saw an early Feb 2016 applicant received approval. We are Feb 17 2016 applicants. So maybe it has been finalized. Anyone else getting similar info?

Our says the same when you click the "?" for Final Decision. Knowing IRCC this is not true.

According to MyCIC:

Application status: We received your Application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of Eligibility: Your Application is in Progress. The next step is to Review your Eligibility.
