if your sponsor is outside of canada, and is a canadian citizen, they can sponsor you by the outland "outside of canada" process. if the sponsor is a PR, they will need to move back to canada and apply to sponsor you from there. Only those living IN canada with their spouse are eligible to apply inland (inside canada). if you are outside of canada, you can only apply outland. if you both live in canada, you are eligible for inland or outland. outland is usually faster and 99% recommended. i'd recommend reading the very first post on the very first thread to learn about the process:lilua said:Can you please explain me the procedure?
Just relax. It will come soon. Mine received april 4th by the cpc. We have a waiting time up to 3 to 4 months for the OWP and AOR. Its not the same to all applicants.Crais84 said:Grrrr so annoying how they randomly deal with applications. My AOR was received on 13th April but there is still no word that they have started processing my application which seems strange considering some people are saying they received their AOR on 3rd May and they started processing 2nd May. Are these outland or inland applications? Mine is an inland one so I am wondering if those who have received their AOR and are being processing are outland applications? Either way the system is messed up and annoying the hell out of me
I second that! After a few panicky postings here in the forum I am practicing my patience by helping others who are going through the same thing. It helps! Yes I was thinking the same thing. I hope someone can answer.vaya said:Hey hey,
The OWP part of the spreadsheet looks frighteningly empty for 2016 - does anyone have any updates in regards to their application?

We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 28, 2016.
We started processing your application on April 27, 2016.
We received --'s application for permanent residence on March 18, 2016.

My questions are; how long does it take to receive the next step (assuming it's AIP?)? Also, when can I apply for the OWP if I'm out of status?

waiting for my OWP..... do need to go back to work
Processing time of OWP permit is 3 months. Upon receiving your application by CPC you can start counting. Making sure that your in legal status and no errors when they received your applications. Because if theres an error on your OWP application and they returned it, and your TRV is already expired, It's a problem, you cant apply for OWP right away. It's better to apply for extension of your stay if you duration of stay is about to expire and still you havent received your OWP.Ringlands said:Just checked the waiting times for inland sponsor and it says the following:
Spouse or common-law partner living inside Canada
'26 month(s)
View your application status online
Includes assessment of sponsor and person being sponsored.
Work permit applications may be submitted after 16 months.'
just a bit concerned about the 'work permit applications may be submitted after 16 months?!'
Sent my application through Canada Post on Saturday 7th May 2016 and it has been received in Mississauga (signed) today - Wednesday 11th May 2016.
I guess everyone who entered there email on the application have been getting AOR via email and not post?
