Hello,

I was wondering if there's anybody that has sponsored their spouse through the Visa Office in Bogota, and have already received a response regarding Permanent Residence. If so, how long did it take? I have applied for my Ecuadorian husband and I was approved for the first step, but I'm still waiting for step 2 to be approved. It is going to be 15 months this August , and I'm becoming more impatient every week!

can't help but feel you pain !

my husband's in Peru. It started in december 2009, it is going to be 19 months in 2 weeks.

I don't know what to say or think anymore...it makes no sense. We asked for an update request and go NOTHING back...

good luck to us !

What!!! 15 months and no AOR?? my wife received her passport request yesterday....at the 7 months mark that Bogota has her application in the office. We received the Accused of reception on April 7th 2011 also.........call your MP and ask him to investigate.

I knew there had to be something wrong... If I had known better I would have called them months ago! So fustrated ..

Did your husband received a letter saying that the embassy has his file?

No letter, although on e-cas it says Step 2 in process. Do you think there could be a delay in the application because of this? I need to call Bogota first thing this Monday.

Well the published processing time for 80% of applications for spouses in Bogota is 15 months. So you have to assume that he will require another medical. He should send a case specific email.

Well I already saw the processing time on CIC so I did have an idea.. but I wanted to hear from other sponsors. When we sent the package , we sent absolutely everything, including medical exams. My question is , does the exam expire after the year??? and yes , we are going to contact the office this Monday.

Thanks!

What exactly is the AOR?? Does everyone receive one? My husband is Ecuadorian.

Hi Kelly AOR stands for acknowledge of receive, and you must have this letter or your husband a couple months after the first stage approval, knowing that I'm very sure that something it's wrong so let's talk about and I'll try to help you as much as I can I have a couple questions.
1 did you pay the fees in advance? if yes when and how much?
2 did you receive a letter with approval first stage?
3 has your husband recieved any mail at all?
4 have you checked your mailing address and see if there is something wrong
let me know

Hello,

Try sending a fax to them. You can find the number of the embassy website..the fax immigration. My wife sent one on Tuesday and we got a call the following day....Just don't forget to mention your file number (starts with BXXXXXXXX)....but it has to be sent and signed by the person on the PR application, not the sponsor...

good luck

Hi Kelly... Ill tell you my story...
Im Colombian and my husband is Canadian, we applied on December 2010 on Mississauga, on March he was approved as my sponsor so the papers were sent to Bogota, Colombia...then I got a letter on April (brown envelope with labels inside and a letter asking me to pay de DEFENSE SYSTEMS COLOMBIA fee (COL$40.000)... I made the payment but after that I havent received any information...

When we applied the proccesing time was 15 months but now the Embassy updated the times so its 17 months which is absolutely frustrating....
