I am a US citizen thinking about applying for a spouse sponsorship. My wife is currently a Canadian citizen living in Ottawa. I was wondering which route to go, Inland or Outland? The outland is faster overall, but i was wondering is there any sort of work visa offered after the first stage of a outland visa has been approved. I was also wondering, after applying for the outland visa can I visit Canada normally with my passport? I am hoping to get into Canada and begin working as soon as possible and I am just unsure of which route would get me there faster. Thank you all in advance.

Go outland unless you want to hate your life for the next three years. There is no open work permit with outland, but some have been getting through the entire process in as little as four months recently.

What scylla said. Look up some threads on here and you'll see that everyone that can, applies outland. It is much faster. You can either suck it up for a few months and wait for your outland application to get processed (most American spouses get it within 6-8 months and some on this board got it after 4 months) or get stuck with inland application for 2-3 years. The choice is pretty simple ;)
