Hi! This is my first time posting and have tried my best to search for the answer I'm looking for in other posts but could not manage to find it so forgive me!
I recently got married in JAPAN and would like to sponsor my wife to CANADA. I am a PR of Canada but have been living in Japan for close to a year now. My question is:
-Can I sponsor/apply for the sponsorship and my wife's immigration while I (Permanent resident not Citizen) reside here in Japan?
I am so confused because some people told me yes and some say no. I've phoned and emailed CIC and all they tell me to do is look on the website. I don't know if I read the CIC site thoroughly or not but I didn't see anything that states ' Yes a PR can sponsor/apply from outside Canada'. I know there is a part that says ' Applications from outside Canada' and that I need to provide proof of my residency in Canada of the time the application is processed. I'll mention again that I keep hearing completely different answers from people so am just totally confused! :
I would really appreciate any help I can get! Thank you!
