Hello all,

So I am planning to sponsor my husband and have a couple of questions. Hoping someone will be kind enough to answer them :)

Background: i am a Canadian Citizen, and I got married 2 years ago(july'2012) in Pakistan and have been living here since then.i am a housewife and currently am not working.

Questions:
- is it necessary for me to be in Canada to sponsor?
- Also, do I need to be working to sponsor?
-once I submit my sponsorship application, will my husband be able to get a visit visa to Canada?

Thanks so much all :)

1. Because you are a Citizen you do not need to be in Canada to sponsor, however in your application you need to show that you intend to move back to Canada as soon as they issue your spouse PR. This can be in the form of a mortgage, job offer, school enrollment (if you have children), etc

2. No but you need to show how you will support yourselves. Show savings or the type of work you will go for when you return to Canada. Also you cannot receive social welfare and have not been declared bankrupt.

3. No one can say for sure as we do not work for CIC.
