Hello, I am sponsoring my australian common law boyfriend to live in canada, we have been common law for two years and we currently live in Canada together. We were thinking of applying outbound for sponsorship as it is faster however he is hoping to remain in Canada through the process but his visa is expiring in May. Can he still get an open work visa if we apply for outbound sponsorship or is it only through In Canada Class.

1. No, only the "in Canada" spousal class is eligible for an open work permit in the family class.
