Spousal Sponsorship-Cairo Visa Office

Hi Guys,

I've applied for spousal sponsorship through the Cairo Visa office just recently. I am really curious to see how long they take in Egypt to process these apps. CIC site use to say 17 months specifically for the Cairo office, of course now its 18 months for EVERYONE (guess those of us applying through Cairo don't have to worry about the changes!).

I've heard and read on these forums of cases where it actually took 6 months but that seems too good to be true. And on the other side, 17 months makes living in Egypt seem like a better option (Ta7ya Masr!) ;D

I'd like to read about everyone's experience and timeline specifically with the Cairo visa office. Please share your timeline and/or experience. Also, if anyone has questions they can benefit from those of us who already went through the experience 8)

Thanks for your reply Masriixo. I did see that forum you mentioned but it started in 2011? And most of the people that are on there have already landed in Canada ;D So I created this in hopes to get in touch with those who are currently waiting or see more recent experiences.. I think there are big changes in the processing now compared to before! especially that there has been a lot of changes in Egypt in the past few years with protesting and such.
