Spousal Sponsorship Approval

Hi,

Can anyone provide me some information about when and how CIC notifies inland applicants when the Spousal Sponsorship is approved?

We sent in our inland PR Family Sponsorship application on the 20th October 2012 and it was delivered at Vegreville on 23rd same month according to Canada Post. However we are yet to hear from CIC if our application has been received and is in process or not.
We not sure how long we have to wait for my spouse to be approved to sponsor me.

I don't have any personal experience with applying inside Canada.

However, I've read that acknowledgments of receipt can be very slow from Vegreville, sometimes not even until Stage 1 (approval in principle) is finished. This information may be out of date.

Currently, the official processing time listed is 6 months for Stage 1.

The average wait time is 6 months for first stage approval. They are working on Applications that were received in late May.
