Hi There,

I'm just in the process of sponsoring my British husband so we can both move to Canada. We're currently living in London. We started our application a few years ago and then didn't' go through with it as my husband had a job offer he couldn't refuse. My question is, we had all our supporting documents notarized which cost us a few hundred pounds. Now obviously we'd need to do this again, but I can't find anywhere on the visa application that is says passports, marriage certificate, birth certificates, and his 8 pictures need to be notarized. Has this changed or do I just not have the correct information? If I don't have the right info, can someone point me in the right direction as I'm not having any luck on the GOC website. Many Thanks :D

You don't need any of these notarized . Just follow the instruction guide. Join us on the London outland and many can answer many questions for you . Also under the London outland look for Andrew-Brit, he has a questions and answer info guide.

As taffy said join us here as this is a thread dedicated to applicants applying through London.

Your starting point for sponsoring your husband is here. There are 3 guides.

Guide 1 is for you, the sponsor.
Guide 2 is for the applicant.
Guide 3 is for the applicant and dependent on where they live.

The application is fairly straightforward, just takes some time to arrange medical, gather police certificates, etc but everything you need to know is on the CIC link above, or in the FAQ in my signature. If you are unsure of anything post in the London thread / start your own thread.

Thanks Taffy and Andrew-Brit!!!

That makes life a lot less complicated. We're almost all set to send off then. I had just written down that notarization needed to be done but couldn't find it in any of the forms. So it must of been something that needed to be done a few years ago maybe.

Will join the thread. Thank you both :)
