Hii there,
I have submitted my application on 19 dec 2019 I got my acknowledging letter on 17 feb 2020 after I check my application status which state sponsorship status and permanent residence status is in process. It’s been a while it’s still in process how long it takes to approve sponsorship status????? Plus Is permanent residence status depend on sponsorship status???? I have tried to call CIC they said they are checking background so how will it take??? I’m a inland applicant I am international student here and my husband is citizen.

Please take some time to read and familiarize yourself with the application process. Inland applications regularly take about a year to process. For inland applications, sponsorship status approval happens near the end of the application process, and yes, PR status is dependent on sponsorship status. No one can tell you how long your background check will take.

The whole process can take up to a year to finish.
