Hello all

My husband and I are getting ready to submit our application and I suppose I'm just looking for some general advice and a little peace of mind.

We met April 2016 and immediately knew this was something special. I'm from England and have been living in Quebec on an IEC visa which runs out July 25th this year. In June last year my now husband asked me to travel with him later in the year and in September we met in Vietnam and travelled for 4 months in Asia and Europe. We returned to Canada where I stayed in Montreal and he moved in with his parents about an hour away, I have travelled every weekend to be with him. In march he asked me to marry him and we decided to get married in the summer this year as we didn't want a big wedding. We got married on June 24th in a small ceremony in his parents garden, his grandpa was the officiant and 5 members of my family came from England for the wedding. I'm working as a live-in caregiver so it's not possible for us to live together, and hasn't been possible, but I have spent every weekend here with him. I'm going to England for a wedding in August but plan on coming back as a visitor after which we will be living together. My husband is currently studying so not working at the moment. Our plan is to move to Sherbrooke in the winter so he can find a job. We don't have a lot of savings at this point really. We will be applying Outland.
We know, and our families and friends know that our relationship is genuine, but I'm worried that our short time together before getting married, paired with it being before my visa ran out will be a red flag for immigration. I'm also a little worried about returning as a visitor with not a lot of money. I will have letters from my mother in law stating that she's going to let me live with her without paying rent and I guess from my husband saying he'll support me and hopefully proof of us at least sending the application (hoping for spousal approval by that point)

Any general advice, encouragement, etc greatly welcome

Thank you in advance

Amie

You didn't get married quickly. Getting married three months after meeting would be quickly. You married more than a year after you met.

I don't see any red flags. I think you're fine and have nothing to worry about.

Why Outland? Has your visa run out.

Great thank you! Obviously panicking over every little detail so some external reassurance is nice!
