Hi there,

I am sponsoring my husband. I am a Canadian citizen and my husband, daughter and I live in the UAE. One of the conditions in the application is that we prove we intend to move to Canada once the sponsorship has been approved. We genuinely cannot wait to move to Canada but what sort of documents can I include in my application to prove I will move to Canada with my husband once the sponsor is approved? For example, job letter?

Also, my parents will provide us accommodation till we later purchase our own place. Can my parents write a letter stating they are offering us a place to stay? Will that count towards securing a place to live at once we move to Canada?

Any other advice will be greatly appreciated.

Have a read of this, I found it useful and my application went through without any further requests.

Providing letters of support from your family members is definitely recommended. It is also good to show the research you've done for your settlement back in canada. This can be information about the area you want to move to, industries you are looking into, job search and/or company information, contact information/communication for real estate agents or landlords, communication with immigrant service organizations, etc.

it is not necessary to have things set in stone or 100% secure for your application. IRCC is aware this is not entirely possible and is looking for a clear and reasonable settlement plan that makes sense.

Wife - Canadian citizen stayed out of canada for most of life
Husband - Indian citizen
We both are currently in US. Wife is not working and husband is on H1B and employed.

Hi There,

I am also in the same situation as you and sponsoring my Husband and we live in the UAE. On two of his forms he is asked about Status in country of residency ( so UAE). Can you please let me know what you have put down for it? People are advising between Foreign National, Other, worker. He is a business owner living here all his life but has to renew the visa every 2 years just like everyone else and is an Indian national.

Thanks!
