Spousal OWP

Did anybody apply for an Open Work Permit for his/her spouse based on Study Permit?
I've just got my SP but we are still waiting for my spouse WP. I am wondering what are the chances to get the spousal WP...

my husband is in Canada on study permit and i applied for spouse open work permit but it get refused so my question is can i apply for visit visa? or i have to apply the same one again?

what is the reason of refusal?

they gave this reason
Do not meet requirements of C42. Study permit has less than 6 Months remaining validity

and this is because my husband's passport is expiring in april 2016

Is your husband planning to renew the study permit or is he about to finish the course? when and where did you apply?

yup he already applied for it.. and his course will end in 2017

i applied for open work permit on april 2, 2015 and after a long wait on november 18,2015 it get refused... i applied online from Pakistan

when he renewed his study permit? or was that the permit that you included in your application?

he will get his renewed permit in January 2016 and it was the previous one that was attached with my application

my piece of advise, better wait for the new study permit before you apply again.

but i am only confused if its ok to apply visit visa or should i have to re-apply the same one so that i can focus on gathering my documents.
