hello everyone I got email from immigration here is the email, what’s that mean?

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. An officer has determined that an in-person interview is required in order to continue the assessment of your application.

Due to operational reasons, the visa office in Havana has been closed. Therefore, you will have to travel either to Mexico City or to Port of Spain in order to attend the interview.
They still didn’t make decision?
I’m very confused cuz we are waiting for decision long time already and still nothing. How long after interview we have to wait for decision?

Still no decision. You need to go to interview. I am waiting for an interview date still. I hope I get mine soon. From what I hear.....they approve you on the spot and possibly could take passport there. Which would mean it could be a couple of weeks or more. Or you have to wait for PAssport request and it depends when you get and send passport to VO and receive back. Could be a month or so. Who knows. They are so unpredictable. Good luck. This is just what I have learned reading posts.

This means that the CIC has doubts on your relationship, thus an relationship interview has been required. And because the Havana office is closed, they asked your partner to go to either Maxico City or Port of Spain to attend the interview. Please be aware, your partner has to attend the interview on time, otherwise your application will be denied. What will happen or how soon will your partner get a decision, nobody here can be sure. All the cases are different, it really depends on your own situation. It could be a positive decision right after the interview, it could be couple more weeks or months, or it could be as long as CIC deems necessary, which it would be no time frame at all.

The thing is my husband is living in U.S. and he can’t leave the country because U.S. Immigration is keeping his passport. We request to send his application to Canadian Immigration in U.S. cuz he has deportation in that country. I hope they will make changes and send papers to U.S. cuz if not it will be very difficult to go for interview. If he leave U.S he can’t go back to that country anymore

Then, you have to make a decision, either you abandon your application and your husband keeps living US, or your husband attends the interview and say goodbye to US for good. CIC won't grant your request to change the interview to US office, just because your husband cannot return to US once he left the US.

CIC call center has a very bad reputation to give out unreliable answers. If you have been on this forum long enough, you will know you cannot depend on CIC call center's suggestion/answers for anything complicated than A,B,C.

No, I am not a lawyer. And actually it is none of my business at all. I am just using my free time to give you some info that I had seen on this forum that similar to your case. Take it or leave it, it is entirely your call. All in all, it is your case on the line.

If you're looking for legal advice, you shoudl really contact a lawyer rather than this forum. No one here is able to give you legal advice.
