Spousal immigration process

Hello to everyone

Hope you guys are fine.

Please note my wife has applied for spousal immigration under faimly class on July 19, 2012 from Ontario Canada and later she confirmed from the consulate Canada that they have approved the application and sent to my file to Abu Dhabi consulate on Aug 29 for document verification etc. They have also given file number and ask my wife to tell husband to take follow-up from Abu Dhabi consulate.

I called them up and but could not get it connected to the concern as there was no option for follow up regarding family class immigration.

Pls note that I am UAE resident since last July 2011 and working as a Senior Officer in a local bank. Further I am Pakistani National. My wife is also Pakistani citizen but a Canadian PR holder and she is studying in Canada these days. I am taking care of her by sending funds every month. It is pertinent to mention that we got married in February 2012 here in Dubai.

Can anybody guide me under following?

How to take follow-up from Abu Dhabi consulate about my file number?
How much time they take normally for document verification?
What would be the next step after document verification?

salam there. i recemmend you go to abu dahbi thread and ask your question . and i am definate that you will get all the answer you looking for. good luck. but as far as i see fellowing up mean . your file is in the embassy and you will be the one in cennection with them. your wife's part in sponsership process is over.. good luck again.

Thanks man but in abudhabi page, there is noone who answers.. i need the answers asap as my file has already received on 28 aug, 12 in abudhabi office. i need to know what would be the next steps..

You have completed Stage 1 processing and your file is in Abu Dhabi for Stage 2 processing which normally takes around 24 months.Please check the link below for your time frame..Even if you contact Embassy in Abu Dhabi they wont give you any information until and unless this 24 months time has elapsed.You can check the status on eCAS and thats the only option every one has for spouse sponsorship....

Just a single query.. what does it mean that step 1 has been completed? is there any number of steps that needs to complete... because i cant find steps in their website. if it is.. can you tell me how many steps are required to complete the process?

In step 1, they decide whether to approve the sponsor. This takes place in Mississauga and is currently taking 69 days. Step 2 takes place at the visa office overseas - in your case Abu Dhabi. Here they will decide if the relationship is genuine, and will check the applicant's medical, police certificates, and his/her background in general. Currently 80% of the applications received at Abu Dhabi are done in 24 months. Your case could be much faster than this, though.
