my wife got passport back with visa exactly after 11 days. The tcs guy delivered it to my house in abbottabad. I have one question. My wife and daughter will be coming with my parents in October. Does my parents need concent letter from me to bring my family or just it should be fine? Also do I need NICOP for them?Thanks

If your daughter is accompanied by her mother then there is no need of consent form.

It is a good idea to obtain NICOP when traveling abroad to settle permanently. There is a $142 charge to make/apply for NICOP at Pakistani Consulate, so it's cheaper to make it from Pakistan.....specially for your wife and daughter.
But they all must be in possession of their CNIC's at the least at airport in Pakistan alongwith their Pakistani passports. Otherwise FIA gives them hard time for not having CNIC or NICOPs

They have NIC but I will get NICOP for them after Ramadan. Thanks for the replied.

My husband did his remedical in January but still waiting for next step

I guess I should be patient for few more months as my wife got re-med request this month. When do people know if their will be an interview? after the re-med or before? I paid all the fees upfront so i guess that should save sometime. But they have never asked my for any more documents. Is it good sign or should i expect that step is still remaining? My Ecas status changed to 'In Process'.

NICOP's validity is 10 years.. and you wont get Canadian Citizenship in next 6/7 years.. so why waste money now? In my opinion one should go for NICOP when they apply for Citizenship..

i got my visa in Feb this year (applied in January 2013 )and im going to Canada on 31th july. i want to know in order to get Canadian passport how long do i have to stay in Canada? and are there any other requirements for this?

You have to stay 4 out of 6 years in Canada in which you have to spend 186 days a year here in Canada.

You have to stay 4 out of 6 years in Canada in which you have to spend 186 days a year here in Canada.

and it doesnt matter when u applied and when i got my visa? this new rule applies to all?

Salam to everyone here. I am a silent reader on this forum. I would like to mention that i sponsored my wife in last April 2014 and application went to London in June 2014. My wife received some updated document request in jan 2015. Then my wife received all her original documents back in feb 2015. In April my wife received medical request which is been done in May2015 . In june my wife received passport request which is submitted right away on 8 june 2015 and Alhamdollilah she received passport back with visa on 28 June 2015. Blessings for everyone. Yes it applies to everyone no matter when u applied. Before it was 3 out of 4 years and i completed my 3 years but they said wait for 1 more year.

i contacted CIC through their official twitter account and the person said this new rule applies to those who applied as of 11 june 2015
