Guys, I need help with some information.

1. Ones they start working on your file, do they keep working on it or work on it partially and keep it aside ?
2. Ones they start working e.g. security check, bg check etc how long this process takes for entire verification thing ? rough estimate would do

I have asked these questions, Because I just came to know that back in April 14 my office was contacted for verification if I still work here and stuff, things like if the address we have given in form is the same address in my HR record as my home, etc. Off course positive response was sent back.

Now if they checked it in April and now its Sept, my status still says application received, medical received :o note please: My file was transfered to London directly on 22nd Jan 14.

Please guide from your experience and knowledge.

I think they work on many files simultaneously. In many cases, e-case status does not change. Depends on the VO actually. My e case still says application recieved. They did not update it to medical recieved although i have submitted my medical initially with the application.
The time consumption in security and background checks depends if the case is a husband or a wife case. Usually a husband case takes longer compared to wife cases. I think for security checks it involves interpol and fbi and once its done, they will locally investigate like you have mentioned. And if they are already working on ur file, then may be its already done. Why dont u order notes to check if its done or not.

I found this post in experienced class thread and i think background and security checks are same for all classes. So this will help you understand it.

Background & Security Checks

Note: Our Background Check comprises of 2 parts:
1. The Standard Documentation Checks,
2. The Security & Criminality Checks.

Standard Documentation Checks:
Our background check is done at the CHC stage. It commences the moment our file gets the 1st BFD by the VO. An indicator of which is the e-CAS that shows "In Progress". All docs been checked & our NOC being tallied against the MI, if the VO finds our case 'eligible' for Canadian PR, the file becomes 'Accepted'; and then it goes for standard background checks, viz. Exp, Quals, Adaptability, Qualitative Considerations etc.

The process involves many things. If our case file is well presented and the enclosures vouch the quality-quantity, adequate POF docs etc., there might not be a requirement of 'actually' calling the employers, references etc. The VOs have a way with that, they are experienced enough to ascertain the logical disposition of our case. But, if there are any concerns of his/her, s/he is likely to ask for additional docs, do further scrutiny vide any means [calling, visiting etc.] & might ask for an Interview.

-Culmination: When 'fully' satisfied, we get the 'Medical Request'.
-Timeframe: Can be anything around 3-8* months, for the 'fast track' system (Avg. 4-5 months).
-eCAS: Continues to Show 'In Process'.
*The older system has a queue, thus can be longer.

Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.

...
The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".

You need to see this. I was just randomly going through the FAQs and found a question exactly like your situation. And unfortunately it says no good. For you i am posting the source link as well and you should make an inquiry asap.

Q- What if I see Decision Made on my applicant spouse's ECAS before he/she was requested for Passport (PPR) ?
If this happens for your PR application ECAS (NOT Sponsorship eligibility application status on ECAS) usually at the end of your case processing of your file over a year after being transferred to Islamabad then sorry to say but that could mean that your application was refused.

i received an email from LVO:

Please be advised that we have received your recent submission. I note, however, that you have submitted three documents, which are unsatisfactory, for our purposes.

You have submitted a Nikah Nama, with an accompanying translation. This is in response to our request for the marriage registration certificate. Please be advised that the marriage registration certificate is a separate document, issued by the Union Council.

You have submitted a birth certificate for your child. This certificate does not include the father's details. We require a long form birth certificate, which includes the father's details.

You have submitted a receipt for the payment of the RPRF. This receipt does not include the receipt number, which identifies the payment. Please submit the full receipt, including the receipt number.

Please submit the marriage registration certificate, long form birth certificate including the father's details, and a copy of the full RPRF receipt, including the identifying receipt number, within 30 days.

Please contact local union council with NIC and Nikkah nama copies and they will get you a Marriage Registration Certificate, you can get the child registration certificate from NADRA and also the birth certificate from kmc office and then attach your full payment receipt... send these to email first and mail the hard copies as well.
Thanks

Email MP if possible. Else make an inquiry to london vo about the status. I cant actually figure out the solution for this unless you are contacted by someone. All i can think of is contacting them via MP. Atleast this way you will get to know what actually is the issue.
