mar.ium,

Please see below for the letter that we received from London office explaining step 1 and 2 of the PPR request:

Dear Applicant,

We are writing with regards to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please be advised that this file is now ready for visa issuance. Since you appear to be resident in Pakistan, and Pakistani law does not permit the mailing of Pakistani passports from Pakistan to other countries, we will not ask you to submit your passport to our office in London. Please refer to the attached document for full instructions.

Please note that you should expect to be contacted again regarding the second stage of this visa issuance process within the next 6 weeks. Kindly do not contact the London visa office nor Islamabad within this time period.

If you have any problems opening the attachment, please contact us by return email.

Sincerely,

High Commission of Canada/Haut-commissariat du Canada
Immigration Section/Service d'immigration (SXB)
38 Grosvenor Street
London/Londres W1K 4AA
United Kingdom/Royaume-Uni

Dear Applicant,
Your application has reached the final stage of processing. Since Pakistani law does not permit the mailing of Pakistani passports from Pakistan to other countries, we will not ask you to submit your passport to our office in London. The issuance of your permanent resident visa will be a two step process.
Step 1: Follow the instructions in this letter to submit the requested items to our office in London. Once we have reviewed them, we will send you instructions for the second step within 6 weeks.
Step 2: Do not submit your passport to our Islamabad office until you receive instructions to do so. The Islamabad office cannot issue your visa before we instruct them to do so. (If you submit your passport early, it will be returned to you without a visa.) The Islamabad office can only mail passports to addresses in Pakistan. If you will want your passports returned to an address outside of Pakistan, then this letter does not apply to you. Inform us immediately so that we can send you different instructions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

And this is what we received from Islamabad

Dear Applicant,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Your immigrant visa(s) appear(s) ready for issuance.

You should not commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take any irrevocable action
such as selling property, or resign employment until you have received your passports and
immigrant visas.

Before we can issue your visa(s) you must:

1.
PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FOR YOU, YOUR SPOUSE, AND CHILDREN:
(Please continue on a separate sheet if you have additional children)

Applicant Spouse Dep1 Dep2 Dep3 Dep4 Dep5
Family
Name
Given
Name
Height
(inches
/cm)

Eye
Colour
Contact Telephone Number(s):
2.
Check that you have enclosed your original passports for everyone in your family who is
accompanying you to Canada. Please note that your spouse and each accompanying child must have
their own individual passport. Please note that your passport may require your signature or thumb
impression in order to be valid. 2
Note: please ensure your passport must contain complete date of birth i.e. day, month and year. A
passport with incomplete date of birth will be returned and this will delay processing of your case.

3.
Check that you and your dependents have sufficient pages in your passports so that we may insert
your immigrant visas

4.
Check that everyone in your family has a passport valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date
of your immigration medical.

Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months from the date of the medical
examination. (If your family had medical examinations on different dates, the visas will all be valid for
12 months from the date of the first medical examination). However, if any passports expire before 12
months from the date of the medical examination your visas will expire on the date that the first
passport expires. If your passports are due to expire, it is in your interest to send us NEW OR
UPDATED PASSPORTS to ensure that your visas can be issued with maximum validity.

5.
Check that you have enclosed two original photographs taken within the last 6 months for everyone
in your family and that you have written the name of each family member on the back of only one of
their photographs
These photographs must not be stapled, glued, or pinned (you may use paperclips or enclose them in
an envelope). The photographs must be unblemished as they will be used to produce your Permanent
Resident Card once you are in Canada. See attached Appendix C.

If you received PPR-2 from Islamabad, then send the passport to them quickly.

PPR-1 from London only requires copies of passport and/or other details. Then they tell Islamabad to send PPR2 for visa issuance.

The original passport must be sent when CHC-Islamabad asks for it for visa issuance.

New forum members and old ones kindly update your timelines on this doc

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvZEJxKnPCtpdGwzWHhsWTFfdUJNRko2YnN1WDRmc3c&usp=sharing#gid=0

It will be great help for all of us to have some kind of resource to compare our

timelines with others. Will help us all in predicting when we could expect to have

something from CIC

Congrats on the success :) its a great news... what I have seen from different comments and status is that its on avg taking 6 to 7 months for London VO to respond back, that's a brilliant sign and I hope all of us get this good news soon :)

Best of luck for settling in Canada, May Allah be with you.
