I desperately need to work and have job offers. I was told to apply for an open work permit online but when it came to my status I am stuck. My spouse has been approved as my sponsor and everything has been complete in my file and the file for my 3 daughters, all from my Canadian citizen husband. When it comes to the page of my status, I don't get it. I have nothing. What am I supposed to have? a temporary permit or something? I have my passport from 2 years ago and nothing else. I obviously need something to move forward for the open work permit which I was told they would refund the 150.00 should my perm residence occur in the meantime.they started processing my file september 2012 but it was all submitted in 2011. I had to redo my medicals and renew a US passport that had expired. Please help. I am more than confused and my family needs income. My canadian husband has 3 low paying jobs and we are not making ends meet. Is there some sort of emergency insurance number I can get? I didn't apply for work permit with my application I didn't know it was an option as we have done this whole thing without lawyers. Thank you!
