I and my husband just got married and we are in the sponsorship process.we currently live in different provinces.he is in manitoba, and im in toronto. for job reasons we cannot live together for now till sept.my question is,does our not living together for now effects our application for sponsorship or should we wait till we are living together.though for now we do rotate our visit.pls can someone enlighten me better on this issue.

No, it doesn't affect your ability to sponsor him, you are spouses, not common-law partners trying to qualify for the cohabitation period.

Exactly - living together is not a requirement for spouses BUT yours is an unusual situation because you are both living in Canada. Your separation is not due to one of you not being able to enter the country, so you need to be prepared for them to question why - when you can be - you are not living together. If your evidences of "genuine relationship" are not strong, they may suspect that your relationship is only about keeping the foreign national partner in Canada. Be careful about this - in other situations, CIC does not consider financial hardship to be huge justification for not living together when a couple can otherwise do so.

It will not affect your application if you explain why you cannot live together and if you show proof for your visits ( tickets, photos, etc.).

Just make sure you do NOT apply using the In Canada class application. You MUST be living together for that application.

Very big thanks to you all.your advice is well appreciated. The best option will be to live together before submiting the application.Thanks.
