Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all,

I'm sponsoring my husband to Canada and I am finally able to log on to ECAS today. But the message I got was only:

"We received your application to sponsor ***** on June 2, 2010.

We sent you a letter on June 29, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

I've read alot of the previous post and this can mean good or bad news. Most people said that their message included a remark saying that CIC have started to process their application on "date". But I don't have that, so does it mean it's bad news for me and that I've probably missed something on the application or they may require additional proof?

For us, it was Decision Made for a very long time before it starting being "in process". Basically you'll get your letter in a few days and once your file is transferred to your processing center THEN you'll get an "in process" and another letter in the mail with file number stickers in case you need to send something back. (or at least that's what Buffalo does)

Mine took a really long time because I'm filing from Quebec and have to obtain my CSQ as well. I'm not sure how much shorter the timeline is for people not filing from Quebec but it seemed a lot faster...

The first portion is the sponsorship so the decision for that has been made. Then it is sent the visa office. Might be a couple of weeks might be a month, there seems to be no set time to know when your file will arrive there. Once the file has arrived in the visa office and the file has been opened it will say in process. That is the PR portion of your application.

I dont think you have to worry, the sponsorship seems to be the easiest portion of the process. When I was sent a letter for sponsorship mine said the same thing. Just said the decision was made and they will send me the decision. I was approved so dont worry about that. I think your fine
