Hello,

I was hoping someone could help me. I qualify to sponsor my parents to come to Canada. They have asked that they want to list my sister as their dependent, which they also qualify to do.

The problem is my sister was given a 5 year ban when she applied for a study permit. The 5 year has not elapsed. I was wondering if this would affect the application?

Anyone with similar experience?

It could. You can't list her as a dependent.

I'm not too sure if the rule that inadmissibility for a family member means your parents are inadmissible as well.

If your sister qualifies as a dependent, she must be included. As she is inadmissible, your parents would be refused. They must wait until either the ban is up or the sister ages out as a dependent.

I don't think you should be quick to judge as you don't know why she was given a ban. Unfortunately in her case it was an Agent error. Be kind to everyone and don't belittle anyone especially when you don't know the full story. I hope you have learnt something today. Have a great day.

Regardless if it was agent error or not, the sole responsibility falls on the applicant for any information submitted. So lesson learned today is that applicants using agents must verify the information on said applications, to ensure everything is truthful. By allowing the agent to apply, the applicant is agreeing everything submitted on said application is truthful and that they agree with it .
The responsibility falls on the applicant.
And that would be the learning point today .
