Hello All,
My fiancee and I will be getting married in August and currently looking at the sponsorship procedure and I had a few questions regarding it. She currently resides with me and is on a Post
Graduate Work permit, has been stuyding in canada since 2004. I'm a Canadian citizen by birth and she's a Chinese citizen. We will also be going back to China in May of next year for a wedding
celebration over there as well. My questions are:
- Would outland application be the way to go for us? As we plan to vacation in China for a few weeks next year, and as far as I know, with an inland application she would not beable to leave the
country?
- Her Visa recently expired and will be applying for a new one, will the application for a Canadian Visa and the PR application conflict in any way?
- If she has a valid Canadian Visa when we return from China, there should be no issues with her entry even with a pending PR application?
- How long does a typical application take? Is there any possibility that she'll have her PR card before we go to China in May say if we finished all the forms and send them in by September?
- What kind of proof is needed for proof of relationship? Since she is in Canada at the time, we don't have much in the way of written letters or emails. We do have plenty of photos of our relationship history and we do live together.
That's it for now, I'm sure plenty more will crop up as we go through the process.
Thanks,
- Steve
