Sponsorship process

Hi All,

I applied for spousal sponsorship for my husband in Dec 2015. I received sponsorship approval letter at my mailing address.

My husband's file is being processed in New Delhi Visa Office.

He received an email to submit the remaining documents (police clearance, medical certificates, etc). The same was already submitted along with my application I sent to Mississauga office. Hope they will pass on the same to the Visa Office in India.

As per the CIC Website his application status still reads as "In Process" and shows the Dec date wherein the medical results have been received.

Post that he has not received any mails/communication from the VO new Delhi, India.

The average processing time reads as 18 months ? Was wondering if we are missing anything here or we just need to await a bit longer ?

Please advise as I am a bit worried.

Thanks for your time.

Any official communication from CIC must be responded back. Explain when and where you send this document to ( in your case you send it to Mississauga ). If you do have photocopy of the document, do include this in your email communication. Do respond back, and i am sure, CIC would start looking in to your case.

I had very similar experience - where i didnt respond back to an email which nearly caused me to loose my PR. ( In my case, CIC asked me to provide them PCC certificate..where as i had send this certificate well before the email... I thought they would be waiting to open my file, unfortunately it was not and they had misplaced the certificate ).

Thank you very much for your reply.

When my husband received an official email it did request to submit the PCC and pay the Right of the Permanent Resident Fee. It mentioned as follows:

In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the following as soon as possible:
· Proof of payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga or by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid. Note: dependent children are not required to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee.
· Submission of police clearance certificates for you and all dependent family members who are 18 years or older, for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted. Note: If you or your family members were under 18 years of age (16 years of age in certain jurisdictions) for the entire time you lived in a particular country, you do not need to provide a police certificate for that country.

My husband had to submit the HongKong PCC and the police of HongKong did that accordingly. As for India, we had already sent in the application.
Below it also mentions that the VO would not acknowledge the receipt of the new information provided.

To whom should we contact Mississauga or VO in New Delhi? Should be email the photocopy of our documents or courier them physically?

Please advise, I am more worried now. Thanks once again.

This is the standard AOR2 email from New Delhi VO. Everyone gets the same email. If you have already included both the PCCs (India and HongKong) and RPRF with your application, you don't have to respond to this email.

If the police sends the HongKong PCC directly to VO or your husband has submitted it later, then you can respond to the email with a scanned copy of the PCC or whatever proof you have that the PCC is sent to VO. Also mark a copy of the email to delhi@international.gc.ca

Just respond back to the email stating, you have already submitted the documents. The email above is standard email.

Thank you all very much for your replies and comments, it really helped me a lot.

Based on anyone's past experience, can anyone advise me on the average processing time for outbound spousal sponsorship application (in India)?
Its been 5 months since my application is in process and no further reply from New Delhi VO.

There are some applicants from Dec 2015 or even Jan-March 2016 (including me) who have already reveived the COPR. There are many who are still waiting from as far as April 2015. You can order notes to see how far they have processed your application. Follow the NDVO 2015 and 2016 threads for more information.

Ok I guess I will have to wait longer for the reply from NDVO :( I get impatient just to know what will happen next and why it takes longer. Thanks for the reply.
